1/2 CUP BUTTER FLAVOR VEGETABLE SHORTENING
1 CUP LIGHT BROWN SUGAR PACKED
1/2 CUP SUGAR
2 LARGE EGGS
3 TEASPOONS VANILLA
2 3/4 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
1 TEASPOON SALT
2 CUPS 12 OZ CHOCOLATE CHIPS
1 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS

COMBINE FLOUR AND BAKING POWDER IN SMALL BOWL AND SET ASIDE. MELT BUTTER AND SHORTENING TOGETHER STIRRING EVERY FEW MOMENTS. POUR OVER SUGAR, BROWN SUGAR, SALT AND VANILLA AND BEAT WELL. ADD EACH EGG SEPARATELY. BEAT UNTIL CREAMY. ADD FLOUR MIX SLOWLY. ADD CHIPS AND STIR SLOWLY NOT TO BREAK CHIPS. CHILL FOR 1-3 HOURS IN COVERED BOWL. HEAT OVEN TO 375 DEGREES DROP TABLESPOON ONTO PARCHMENT PAPERED COOKIE SHEET. BAKE 10-12 MINUTES TILL GOLDEN BROWN.
