1 cup dates
2 cups hot water
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts or pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cut dates into small pieces, add baking soda and pour water over mixture- let stand

In separate bowl mix butter and sugar together then add eggs and beat. Add 1/2 the flour to mixture and blend.

Remove dates from water and add to mixture followed by the remaining flour, nuts, and vanilla

Grease and flour a bundt pan and bake 45-50 minutes. Serve with cream cheese.
