1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cocoa
2 cups milk
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter

Meringue
2 egg whites
4 tbsps. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, flour and cocoa in heavy saucepan. Over medium heat gradually add milk, stirring continuously. When pudding becomes thickened, spoon approx. 1/4 cup of the pudding into the egg yolks, mix thoroughly and stir into pudding and continue cooking for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter.

Beat egg whites until white and frothy. Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff but not dry.

Pour pudding into 9 inch baked pie shell, top with meringue and bake at 400º for approx. 5 minutes until meringue is lightly browned. Chill pie before serving.
