1/2 c. shortening or margarine
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
rind of one lemon
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
Nuts as desired

Glaze:
Juice of one lemon
1/4 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Add nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350º F. for 45 minutes.

Glaze:
Spoon glaze over top of baked loaf while still warm.
