1 c butter
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp rum flavour
3/4 c sugar
1 unbeaten egg
3 c flour
1 tsp nutmeg

Frosting
3 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp rum flavour
2 1/2 c icing sugar
2 - 3 tbsp cream or milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter, vanilla and rum flavour. Gradually add sugar. Blend in egg. Add sifted flour and nutmeg gradually; mix thoroughly. Shape pieces of dough on lightly floured surface into long logs, 1/2 inch in diameter.
Cut in 3 inch lengths. Bake on ungreased tins in moderate oven (350ºF), 12 to 15 minutes until light golden brown.

Frosting
Cream butter, vanilla and rum flavour. Blend in sugar alternately with cream or milk. Beat well.
Decorate to suit with cherries, silver balls, sprinkles etc.
