"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When my parents were courting, daddy (Ralph Loran) took mama (Bonnie Lytle) out to the Loran farm to meet his family. Now, daddy was the oldest of 11 children. They all fell in love with the blond haired blue eyed Bonnie. As happens in normal families, there was a lot of teasing and tormenting. It seems the Loran family had a milk cow named Bonnie. The Loran siblings loved teasing Ralph, saying "Let's go milk Bonnie!" or
"Somebody catch Bonnie, we gotta milk her!" Just use your imagination! Grandma Loran made everyone change the name of the cow!

Mama made this recipe a lot when it was cold. We had it for breakfast and many nights for supper. I made this a lot when my four children were growing up and Amy Pilkington makes it for her boys and Greg.
