1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (lb) can chocolate syrup (1 1/2 c.)
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
6 T. butter or margarine
6 T. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. semisweet chocolate pieces
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Cream together 1/2 c. butter and 1 c. sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Add 1 tsp. vanilla and syrup. Beat well.

Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir well and add nuts. Pour into well-greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch jelly roll pan.

Bake in 350º oven 22 minutes or until done. Cool in pan on rack.

Combine 6 T. butter, milk and 1 c. sugar in pan. Bring to a boil; boil 30 seconds-remove from heat. Add chocolate pieces and 1 tsp. vanilla; stir until mixture thickens slightly. Spread over brownies; cut in 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch bars.
