1 pkg yeast
1 tsp Sugar
½ cup luke warm water
¼ cup butter
¼ cup shortening
1 cup milk
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
4 ½ cups flour
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve sugar in warm water, sprinkle yeast and let stand for 10 minutes.
Scald milk, add sugar, butter, shortening and salt. Let cool to luke warm.
Beat eggs in large bowl. Add milk mixture and yeast. Add 2 cups flour mixture and beat until smooth. Add remaining flour, knead and let rise until double the size. Divide in ½, roll on flour until ¼ to ½ inch thick. Spread melted butter, roll like jelly roll. Cut and put on greased pans. Let rise for few minutes then cook for 20 minutes at 375ºF.

Icing for Butter Horns
1 cup icing sugar, ½ tsp vanilla, milk (add until texture you want) 1tbsp butter.
