2 lbs. round or sirloin steak or chicken, cubed 1 1/2 inches
2/3 c. soy sauce
2/3 c. water
About 1/4 c. sugar-water syrup
1/4 c. cooking sherry
1 medium ginger root, grated (about 3 T.) or 3 tsp. ground ginger
1 clove garlic, minced

Directions:
Directions:
Cut meat in 1 1/2 inch cubes. Marinate about 10 minutes in sauce made by combining all the other ingredients. Thread on skewers. Broil about 7 minutes or till desired doneness. Turn and brush frequently with sauce. Heat remaining sauce; pass. Teriyaki go with: Chinese Fried Rice.
