2-5 garlic cloves, minced
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 16 oz can tomato sauce
1 7 oz can tomato paste
1/3 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 chopped onion
Parsley about 1 tbsp
Oregano about 1 tbsp
1-2 bay leaves or 1/2 tsp basil
Teaspoon salt
1-2 teaspoon pepper
1 tbsp sugar

In big pot – brown garlic in olive oil (2-3 tablespoons) – careful not to burn it!

Add all the other ingredients.

Let sauce simmer at low heat for 1-2 ½ hours stirring occasionally – careful not to burn the sauce.

Optional ingredients for different tastes…
If making a meat sauce, brown 2 ½-3 lb ground beef; drain off grease
¼ cup Chianti (and one for the chef…!)
Worcestershire sauce – couple of sprinkles
Hot sauce – couple of sprinkles – but be careful! Don’t make too hot!
