1 box brown sugar (light or dark)
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Put brown sugar, butter, vinegar, butter and milk in a sauce pan on high heat and stir until all ingredients are melted. Boil for 1 minute. Reduce heat to low and boil about 25 minutes or until mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water. Add baking powder and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

This is not as complicated as it seems. I made it for his birthday one year. I spread it on yellow cake layers and garnished it with chopped black walnuts. This was you Grandfather's favorite cake.
