3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar (white)
3/4 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 and 3/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1. HEAT oven to 375º. Beat sugars and butter in large bowl on medium speed with an electric mixer about 3 minutes or until fluffy. Beat in vanilla and egg. Beat in flour, baking soda and salt until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

2. DROP dough by 1/4 cup full and 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

3. BAKE 12 to 14 minutes or until light brown. Cool 3 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.

Mom made the best chocolate chip cookies, I had misplaced the recipe and finally have it. Also, an ice cream scoop is the best way to make evenly size cookies and muffins. I would use the smaller size ice cream scoop for these cookies first, an then if you need to make them larger, use the larger size scoop.
