Ingredients:  
2 pounds ground sausage
1 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 quarts tomato juice
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 tsp chili powder
salt to taste
1-1/2 quarts water
1 quart cooked kidney beans
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
4 rounded tablespoons of cornstarch (enough to thicken to your satisfaction)
dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion and sausage in oil until brown. Drain off grease. Warm tomato juice, sugar, chili powder, salt and 1 quart water to the boiling point. add sausage and cornstarch and stir until thickened. Add beans. Cook 5-10 minutes. Add more water if needed.
