1 head lettuce
1 medium onion, chopped (optional)
1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas (thawed)
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup diced green pepper
Bacon (you can use a package of real Bacon Bits)
1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar Cheese
2 cups mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sugar (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Layer first five ingredients into a 13" x 7" pan. Mix mayonnaise with sugar (I don't use the sugar) and it's better. Spread over the layers with a spatula. Sprinkle bacon bits and cheese on top. Cover with plastic wrap. Chill overnight if possible.
