2 pound frozen hash browns (string type, not chopped)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup chopped onions (optional)
1 pint sour cream
10 ounces grated cheddar cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup

Topping: (Optional)
2 cups crushed corn flakes or Ritz Crackers
1/4 cup melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Thaw frozen potatoes. Combine with butter, salt, pepper, soup, sour cream, onions(?), and cheese. Mix lightly, put in a buttered 13" x 9" casserole pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350º. Top with 2 cups crushed corn flakes or Ritz crackers mixed with melted butter. Bake another 25 minutes at 350º
