1/2 pound butter (2 sticks at room temperature)
1/2 cup Crisco
3 cups sugar
3 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
5 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons lemon flavoring
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, butter and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well. Add flour, baking powder (sifted three times). Add milk and flavorings. Pour into well-greased floured tube cake pan. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes at 300º.**

*Be careful in house, no slamming doors and don't move cake while baking. Cake will fall.
