3 sliced not too ripe Bananas
1 box Nabisco Vanilla Wafers
¾ c. sugar
Top with ¼ c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla flavor

1 c. milk = 1/2 evaporated milk +/ ½ water
½ stick of butter or margarine
3 egg yolks (beat a little bit with spoon)
Use egg whites for meringue topping

Set oven to 400º.
In cooking dish: layer cookies and banana slices.
In large double broiler: add sugar, flour, vanilla flavor, egg yolks, and butter to make the pudding. Stir on medium heat until thickened. Once pudding thickens, pour over cookies and bananas in layers.

MERINGUE
Whip ¼ c. sugar into egg whites until thickened into stiff peaks. Top the pudding with the meringue. Bake 15 minutes or until meringue is golden brown. .

Mama's recipe makes a small dish. [Gloria size.] It is easily doubled or tripled to larger servings. [George size.]
