48 Hershey's Kisses Candy Cane Mint Candies, unwrapped
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp milk
Red or green sugar crystals, granulated or powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350º
1. Beat butter, granulated sugar, egg and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add alternately with milk to the butter mixture, beating until well blended.
2. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in red or green sugar, granulated or powdered sugar, or any combination of the sugars. Using a small baking pan makes this easy.
3. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and cookie is set. Remove from oven and cool 2 - 3 minutes. Press a candy piece into the center of each cookie. Remove cookies to a wire rack and cool completely.
4. Let cool 3 minutes for white chocolate, 7 minutes for dark chocolate.
