2 c. sugar
3/4 c. whole milk
1/2 c. butter
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped pecans
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Butter a large saucepan, combine the sugar, milk, and butter in the pan.
Bring to a soft ball stage using a candy thermometer. Stir often. Remove from the heat, stir in dates and vanilla. Keep stirring until well mixed. Add the pecans and keep stirring until it is no longer glossy looking. Pour onto a wet cloth and form into a long roll. Refrigerate and keep wrapped in the cloth.
