1 head red cabbage, washed and coarsely sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
3 tart apples, chopped
2 tsp salt
1 cup hot water
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup cider vinegar
3 tbsp bacon grease or butter

Directions:
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a crock pot in the order listed. Cover and cook on low for 8 - 10 hours or on high for 3 hours. Stir well before serving. Good hot or cold.
