Mountaineer half-runner green beans - approximately 3 pounds
1 small onion
3 - 4 strips of uncooked bacon
1 teaspoon salt
water

Directions:
Directions:
1. Grow, pick, clean and string the beans. Snap large sizes in half.
2. Chop the onion.
3. Cut the bacon into 1" sized pieces.
4. Put all ingredients in a stock pot. Put enough water in the pot to cover the beans.
5. Bring to a boil on medium heat. After water boils, reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and let simmer until beans are soft for a minimum of 2 1/2 hours.
