1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. pecans, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together shortening, sugars and eggs. In a small bowl mix together flour, salt, and soda. Add to egg mixture. Stir in pecans. Form 2 rolls and wrap in wax paper. Chill overnight. Cut in slices and place on greased pan. Bake at 350º for 10 to 12 minutes.

My mom would make these cookies and keep the rolls wrapped in wax paper and foil and stored in the freezer to bake whenever she needed them. Obviously, this was before "fund raiser" cookies.
