4 c thinly sliced apples (Granny Smith)
1/4 c water
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

Topping
1 c sugar
3/4 c flour
1/3 c soft butter
3/4 c oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Slice apples and add to greased 8 inch square pan. Sprinkle water, cinnamon & salt over apples. Mix remaining ingredients together, then spread over apples. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

This recipe came from 'Betty Crocker Cooking with Boys & Girls' cookbook that my grandma gave me in 1965. Still one of my favorites, yum!
