3 unbaked pastry shells in pie plates, ready to fill.

3 cups cooked mashed pumpkin or 1 tin pumpkin, not flavoured
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. white sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp cloves
4 eggs
2 cups warm milk

Directions:

Put pumpkin into large bowl. Add dry ingredients, then well-beaten eggs, then warm milk. Mix and pour into pie shells.

Bake 375 F. until set; about 45 minutes.

When I was first married I was not familiar with pumpkin pie. My husband brought me a beautiful pumpkin and asked me to make him a pie. I did, with a double crust! We had a good laugh, and ate the pie anyhow. Next time I made it traditionally and served it with lots of whipped cream.

If you want to make it from scratch but don't have a pumpkin a squash works just as well.
