2 c. sugar
¾ c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk
1 t. vanilla
2 ½ c. flour
2 t. baking soda
1 T. salt
½ c. cocoa
1 c. boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients in bowl and set aside. In another bowl, cream shortening and sugar together. Add unbeaten eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla to milk and add this to egg mixture, alternately with the dry ingredients beginning and ending with flour mixture. Add water all at once and stir until well blended. Bake in layer pans in 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
