2 ¼ c. flour
1 ½ c. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1 t. salt
½ c. shortening
¾ c. milk
1 ½ t. vanilla
¼ c. milk
2 beaten eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Add shortening, ¾ c. milk and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed in an electric mixer. Add ¼ c. milk and eggs. Beat 2 minutes more. Pour into greased cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until cake springs back in middle. Oblong pans require 35-40 minutes to bake.
