5 ½-6 ½ c. flour
½ c. sugar
1 ¼ t. salt
2 pkg yeast
¾ c. milk
½ c. water
1/3c. margarine
3 room temperature eggs
¾ c. chopped nuts (optional)
¾ c. mixed candied fruit
1/3c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 2c. flour, sugar, salt and yeast. Combine milk, water, margarine in a sauce pan and heat over low heat until warm. Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Add eggs and beat to make a thick dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead in remaining flour. Let rise for 1 ½ hours. Combine nuts and raisins. Punch down dough and knead fruit into the dough. Divide dough into three equal parts. Roll each into a 12x7 inch oval. Fold each oval in half length wise and place on a greased cookie sheet. Let rise for about 15 minutes Bake for about 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. Glaze with a confectioners sugar glaze while still warm.
