1 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
6 cups shredded cabbage (about 1 pound)
1/2 cup chopped Italian parsley
2 tablespoons grated onion

Directions:

1. Shred cabbage. Mix with parsley and onions. Add to large bowl.

2. In a large measuring cup, add mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and cinnamon. Mix well. Pour over cabbage mixture.

3. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour to blend flavors.

When we lived in Annandale, VA, we loved going to the local micro-brewery "Sweet Water Tavern" for (the best ever) crab cakes, their coleslaw and beer. This is a recreation of the recipe after a waiter let us know that it was the cinnamon that made this slaw so special.
