8 slices bread, toasted
1/4 c Margarine
20 oz. Can Apple Pie Filling
1/2 c Raisins
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 c Dark Brown Sugar
1 c Hot Water
1 c Milk
2 Eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 tsp. Salt
Nutmeg
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Whipped Cream

Directions:

Spread toasted bread with margarine. Arrange four slices of bread, buttered size up, in a well greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Spread pie filling over bread. Top with raisins and cinnamon. Cut remaining bread into cubes, arrange over apples covering entire surface. Stir brown sugar and hot water together until sugar is somewhat dissolved. Then add milk, eggs, salt and vanilla; pour over bread. Sprinkle top with nutmeg.
Bake at 350º for 50-60 minutes or until custard is set.
