1 1/4 c. Boiling Water
1/2 c. Shortening
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. Brown Sugar
1 1/2 c. Flour
1 c. White Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Rolled Oats
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp. Salt

Topping:
2 Egg Yolks, beaten
1/2 c. Butter/Margarine
1 c. |Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Nuts
1 c. Coconut
1 tsp. Vanilla

Batter:
Pour boiling water over rolled oats and let stand until cool. Cream sugar and margarine, add eggs, one at a time, beat well. Add vanilla, rolled oats, sift dry ingredients together and add to the first mixture. Bake at 350ºF for 25-30 minutes. When cake is done, put the topping on and return to oven to brown

Topping:
Blend well and spread on hot cake.
