"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup 100 % all natural Peanut Butter (can be crunchy or creamy; no hydrogenated oils)
1 T. honey
3/4 cup flax meal (can be a combination of flax meal & flax seeds)
1/2 cup raisins, dates, or raw cacao nibs

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl or use a food processor to combine all ingredients. Roll into bit size balls and refrigerate for at least an hour before eating. (This will help them set).
The mixture should be slightly sticky and moist so ingredients stick together.

These are great to carry with you to work or school for a quick protein/energy boost mid-morning or late afternoon (or before a workout); just be careful-they are addicting!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
For the 1/2 cup, I use about 1/4 cup combination of chopped dates and raisins and about 1/4 cup of cacao nibs. Cacao nibs can be found in your local health food store but are sometimes hard to find, so if you prefer, raisins and dates can be substituted and work just as well. I also use a combination of flax meal and whole flax seeds, but either one works, whatever you have on hand.
