2/3 c. Crisco
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. grated orange peel (optional)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
4 tsp. milk
2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Crisco, sugar, orange peel and vanilla. Add egg and beat till light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Combine dry ingredients and blend into creamed mixture. Chill mixture for an hour.

On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8" thick. Cut in desired shapes with cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375º about 6 to 8 minutes until brown. Cool slightly. Remove from pan and cool on rack. You can decorate with icing if you prefer.
