2 T olive oil
1 large onion
1 tsp minced garlic
1 pound mild Italian sausage
1 pound ground beef
3 15 oz cans tomato sauce
2 15 oz can diced tomatoes
1 large can tomato paste
1 T Italian seasoning
1 tsp basil
garlic salt & pepper to taste
1 pound spaghetti noodles - boiled in salt and oil
Parmasen cheese to taste

Directions:
In large Dutch oven, brown onion and garlic in oil. Add the Italian sausage and ground beef and cook until done. Drain well. Add the tomato sauce, tomatoes, and tomato paste and seasonings. (add more to taste if necessary) The longer it cooks the better, so I often make it ahead and let it simmer in the crock pot for several hours. Serve over cooked spaghetti and sprinkle with desired amount of Parmesan cheese.

You can make this with 2 pounds of ground beef, but as Nanny always said - "Italian sausage makes it a bit tastier!"
