1 1/2 c. whole almonds (skin off)
1/1/2 c. walnut halves
1 c. whole dates
1 c. maraschino cherries (drained)
2/3 c. chopped orange peel
1/2 c. white raisins
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
3 T. Brandy

Directions:
Directions:
Select a large bowl for the almonds, walnuts, dates, cherries, orange peel, and raisins.
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Pour dry mixture over fruit.
Mix 3 eggs in a small bowl and fold into the fruit mixture.
Grease and flour two bread pans.
Bake 300º for one hour.

When cool, invert cakes, soak cheese cloth with brandy, then wrap the cakes with the cheese cloth and then wrap in foil. Slice and enjoy!

This was Granny's favorite Christmas fruitcake. It is very pretty when sliced.
