¼ lb dried apples
½ lb dried apricots
¼ lb prunes
1 lb seedless raisins
¼ lb almonds (optional)
Sugar (to taste)

Directions:
Directions:
Wash fruit thoroughly in very warm water. Place apples, apricots and prunes in saucepan and pour in a generous amount of hot water (5 to 6 cups) to cover the fruit well. Let stand for 30 to 40 minutes. Add raisins and simmer gently, covered, in this water until fruit is tender. If possible, do not stir. Chill thoroughly. Serve with 6 or 8 almonds in each dish. Makes about 8 servings.
