2 cups sauerkraut
½ cup water
½cup dried peas
1 medium onion, chopped
¼ cup Mazola oil
2 Tbsp flour
Salt and pepper
1 small garlic clove, crushed

Directions:
Directions:
Soak dried peas overnight. Rinse them and drain. Cover with fresh water and cook until done. Rinse sauerkraut in cold water, if too sour. Drain it. Add 1/2 cup of water and cook for 15 minutes. Combine peas and sauerkraut; reserve liquid for sauce. Fry onion in oil, until softened and light yellow. Sprinkle flour over the onion and brown very lightly. Pour liquid from cooked sauerkraut and peas; add crushed garlic and stir constantly , until the sauce thickens. Add sauce to the sauerkraut and peas; stir. Add salt and pepper to taste and simmer for 30 minutes. This should be quite thick.
