2 cups sugar
1 lb. seed (ground)

Add enough water to make mixture easy to spread on dough. Spread on dough and roll like cinnamon roll. Seal with water. Put in greased pan and let raise about 1/2 to 3/4 hour. Bake about 20 to 25 minutes at 400. When done, brush top with butter and cover with cloth to cool.

We always had poppy seed filling on Christmas Eve. Lena would stir it into small bread balls. We would eat this dish after going to Midnight Mass.
