1 3/4 C. flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 C. shortening
5 Tbsp. water (or more)
Filling:
4 to 5 apples, peeled, cored, sliced 1/2 –inch thick
1/2 C. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Topping:
3/4 C. flour
1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening. Add water, and toss with a fork. Roll out to fit a 12 inch pizza pan. Cover with apple slices, arranging in circles so they overlap slightly. Mix sugar and spices; sprinkle over apples. For the topping, cut butter into flour and sugar with a pastry blender. Sprinkle over the apple slices. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.

This recipe is so simple and delicious. Beats making an apple pie from scratch! This recipe is from a Home Economics class from when I was in Junior High School. How long ago was that?
