4 quart medium-small cucumbers
a few (up to 10) small white onions
1 green pepper
1/2 c. coarse salt
Ice
5 c. sugar
5 c. vinegar
2 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and thinly slice cucumbers. Thinly slice onions. Cut peppers in thin strips. Place these ingredients in crock pot or large glass bowl with salt and plenty of ice to crisp the vegetables. Let stand for three hours. Drain thoroughly. Add sugar, vinegar, and spices. Blend carefully. Heat just to boiling point. Pack in sterilized hot jars. Seal at once.
