1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 egg
1/2 to 1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 1/2 c. fruit cocktail, drained
1 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, sugar, salt and soda. Add egg, mix well. Add drained fruit. Pour mixture into an 8 inch square pan. Top with brown sugar and nuts. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

This was a common dessert on the farm. Easy to make. We usually had a can of fruit cocktail in the cupboard.
