1 cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp. butter
1 cup brown sugar
5 tbsp. flour
⅛ tsp. soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 2 tbsp. butter in 8 x 8 x 2 baking pan. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, soda, and pecans.
Beat 2 eggs in a mixing bowl and stir in the brown sugar mixture and 1 tsp. vanilla. Pour this mixture over the melted butter in the pan. Do not stir. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven. Let cool slightly. Cut in bars and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I was in 5th or 6th grade when I got this cookbook and I remember making quite a few recipes from it. This recipe is one I made over and over again. I think this was the first recipe I ever made without my mom helping me out.
