1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
⅓ cup sugar
⅛ tsp. salt
1 large egg, beaten
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips



CUPCAKE
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
FILLING: Have ready pan of miniature or regular-size muffin tins and cupcake liners. Prepare the filling: in a small bowl, cream of the cream cheese with the sugar and salt. Add the eggs and beat well. Stir in the chocolate chips and set aside.
CUPCAKE: In a large bowl sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Add the oil, vinegar, vanilla, and 1 cup of water; beat well until thoroughly combined.
Spoon the cupcake batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about three-quarters full. Drop a small dollop of the filling mixture on top of each cupcake. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes and remove from the oven. Let cool on wire racks.
