2 1/4 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
3/4 c butter, softened
1 c dark brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c dark molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Sift first 6 ingredients together and set aside. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg, then molasses. Add dry ingredients slowly, mixing well. Chill for at least 1 hour. Make small balls (I use a melon baller) and roll in sugar. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
