Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1⅔ cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
½ cup sour cream (or can use Greek yogurt to make lower-fat)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cream sugar and shortening together.
Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and sour cream. Add bananas.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan. (When David and I were in Boston, we had banana bread several times at a wonderful bakery. They put a half a banana slice lengthwise on top of the batter before baking it. I do this sometimes too. It’s very moist and tasty.)
Bake at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

Here are the ingredients to double the recipe
3 ⅓ cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter
2 cup sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sour cream (or can use yogurt to make lower-fat)
4 (or a little more) very ripe bananas
