3/4 c Butter
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Baking Soda in 1 tbsp. Hot Water
1 c Ground Raisins
1 tsp. Cloves
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c Flour
1 c chopped Nuts (we use pecans)

Directions:

Cream Butter and Sugar
Add eggs, then mix in raisins and baking soda mixture
Combine flour and spices and add to mixture
Mix well and add nuts
Roll out, cut, and bake at 350º for 10-11 minutes

these were Rosella Gettinger's specialty. She always made them around Christmas time and kept them in a tin out on the porch where it stayed cold. What a treat!
