2 lbs. boneless beef chuck, cubed
1/2 cup flour
1 Tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
2 Tbsp. oil
1 cup onion, chopped
6 cups water or beef broth
3 cups canned tomatoes, drained
2 cups carrots, diced
1 cup celery, sliced
3 cups diced potatoes
1 cup green peas
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 Tbsp. corn starch
1/4 cup cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Lightly coat beef cubes in mixture of flour, salt, pepper and paprika. Brown in oil on all sides in large heavy kettle. Add onion and brown lightly. Add water, vegetables, seasonings and simmer for about 1 hour until vegetables are tender. Dissolve corn starch in 1/4 cup cold water then stir into stew to thicken.
