1/2 c chopped onion
1/2 c margarine or butter
1 tbsp salt
1 1/2 c Arborio or Pearl rice
3 1/2 c hot water
1/2 head of cabbage (about 3 cups chopped)
1/2 cup cream

Optional:
1/2 c cooked bacon bits

Directions:
Directions:
In a 2.5 liter casserole dish: cook chopped onion and margarine or butter until translucent. To the fried onions, add hot water, salt. When water /onion mixture has started to boil, add rice. Add chopped cabbage and cook on the stove top for about 15 minutes, stirring often. When most of the liquid has cooked off, stir in cream.

Cover and bake in a preheated 350º for 45 minutes.

Optional: Stir in cooked bacon bits to the mixture when adding the cream and before baking.
