1/2 kg beef fillet
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. curry powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. coriander
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
2 tbsp. oil
2 bay leaves
2 small beef cubes
1 large clove garlic
2 onions
1 tomato
1 small can tomato paste
3 carrots
4 potatoes
2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Cut fillet into cubes, set aside. Brown the onion and garlic in oil with turmeric, curry powder, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Brown the meat in the same pan. Once the meat is brown, pour the onion & spice mixture on top of the beef cubes. Mix well. Crumble beef cubes into the meat; mix well. Chop tomatoes and add to meat along with tomato paste. Continue stirring. Add water. Cover and let cook for 5 minutes. Peel the potatoes and carrots. Cut carrots into strips. Add both to the curry. Cover until fully cooked. Serve over rice.
