1 c. chopped onion
1 lb. ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
6 c. pureed tomatoes
6 oz. tomato paste
1/4 c. snipped parsley OR 1 tbsp. dried
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1 bay leaf
2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine onion, ground beef. and garlic in a Dutch oven. Cook until meat is browned and onion is tender. Skim off excess fat, add remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for 3 hours or until sauce is thick. Stir occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve over hot spaghetti noodles.
