1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 . mashed very ripe bananas (3-4 med)
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. Gold Medal all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soa
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350. Grease bottoms only of 2(8 x 4) loaf pans or 1 (9 x 5) loaf pan.
In lg bowl, mix sugar & butter. Add eggs, bananas, buttermilk & van; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt and nuts just till moistened. Pour batter into pans.
Bake 8 inch loaves hour, 9 inch loaf for 1 1/4 hours or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Loosen sides of laves from pans; remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool about 1 hour before slicing.
